Cameroon -Türkiye: From business dialogue to joint investment

The direction was set on the opening evening of the Cameroonian business mission to Istanbul. In his address, Mr Christophe Eken, President of Cameroon's Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Crafts (CCIMA), placed co-investment at the heart of the discussions: bringing Cameroonian and Turkish businesses together to invest, produce and create value side by side.

The signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between CCIMA and the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) marks a decisive step towards that goal.

Signed by Presidents Christophe Eken and Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu at the B57+ Business Leaders' Summit 2026, the agreement establishes a Türkiye - Cameroon Chamber of Commerce and Industry Forum. The forum gives the two business communities a lasting framework for cooperation.

Its practical priorities are clear: business matchmaking, exchanges of market information, training, technical missions and the development of joint projects. Regular forums and specialised working groups will sustain momentum and move opportunities forward.

For Cameroonian businesses, the framework opens access to Turkish partners, proven expertise and investment projects that can make a real difference. For Turkish companies, it offers Cameroonian partners who know the market from the inside and, beyond that, a gateway to Central Africa.

The ceremony was attended by H.E. Prof. Dr Ömer Bolat, Minister of Trade of the Republic of Türkiye; His Royal Majesty Senator Ekoko IV Mukete, President of CTBC; and members of the Cameroonian business delegation. Cameroon was also represented by H.E. Victor Chatuo, Ambassador of Cameroon to Türkiye; H.E. Iya Tidjani, Ambassador of Cameroon to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Permanent Representative to the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation; Mrs Fadimatou épouse Mbarga Dia, Counsellor at the Embassy of Cameroon in Türkiye; and Dr Nkwah Akongnwi Ngwa, First Secretary and Focal Point for Cameroon's Investment Promotion Agency in Türkiye.

From President Eken's opening address to the signing ceremony, one ambition ran throughout: building a partnership on joint investment and shared value creation.

The task now is to turn this framework into viable projects, productive partnerships and tangible results: jobs, local processing and shared prosperity for both our countries. CTBC is committed to playing its full part.
