Pre-Delegation Mission in Douala: Setting the Stage for the Türkiye-Cameroon B2B Forum 2025
As we gear up for the Türkiye–Cameroon B2B Forum scheduled for July 3, 2025, we were honored to host two senior representatives from Türkiye’s key export institutions during a crucial pre-delegation mission to Douala:
- Mr. Hüseyin GÖK, Chief of Foreign Relations and Activities at the Türkiye Exporters Assembly (TİM)
- Mr. Salih DİNÇ, Fairs Department Expert at the Istanbul Textile and Apparel Exporters’ Association (İTKİB)
Their visit focused on finalizing venue arrangements, assessing logistics, and engaging in strategic discussions with various Cameroonian institutions.
Host Venue Confirmed
The delegation conducted on-site inspections and coordination sessions at the Krystal Palace Hotel, the official venue for the Forum. Dry runs of the event were held to ensure a seamless experience for both Turkish and Cameroonian participants.
In addition to confirming the event venue, the delegation engaged in strategic meetings with key Cameroonian institutions, including the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Crafts (CCIMC), the Cameroon National Shippers’ Council (CNSC), the Douala City Council, and a high-level dialogue with Senator Ekoko Mukete.
Strategic Session with CCIMC
At the CCIMC, discussions centered on the pivotal role of Cameroonian businesses in this high-profile B2B event. As the institutional home of the private sector, CCIMC reaffirmed its commitment to mobilizing relevant enterprises to engage with the visiting Turkish companies, particularly those active in trade, manufacturing, and industry.
Engagement with CNSC
A significant meeting with the CNSC explored potential synergies between Turkish exporters and Cameroonian importers. With its deep understanding of trade flows and sector dynamics, CNSC is actively working to identify businesses that align with the Turkish delegation’s offerings, ensuring effective matchmaking.

City Council Partnership: Douala at the Center of It All
The Douala City Council welcomed the delegation, with the First Deputy Mayor expressing full support for the Forum. Their shared vision of positioning Douala as a strategic trade and investment gateway will amplify visibility for the event, ensuring media participation and highlighting areas for future cooperation. This public-private partnership is a vital asset for the Forum’s success.
High-Level Dialogue with Senator Nfon Ekoko Mukete
The delegation also held a private session with Senator Nfon Ekoko Mukete, CTBC President, Türkiye’s Honorary Consul in Douala, and First Vice President of CCIMC. His continued support for industrialization, joint ventures, and skills transfer was evident through his active involvement in this mission and the lead-up to the Forum. His presence at the July event will undoubtedly signal confidence and continuity.
The Diversity of Companies and Enduring Confidence
This year’s Türkiye–Cameroon B2B Forum will feature a diverse array of Turkish enterprises spanning sectors such as textiles, chemicals, furniture, garments, machinery, and electrical products. These participants are not just traders but seasoned industrialists with a proven track record in exports and market adaptability. Notably, Tona Exim which established a local subsidiary after its initial visit in 2023, will be rejoining us in July.
With institutional efforts continuing behind the scenes, the Turkish Trade Attaché and Ambassador are collaborating closely with CTBC to secure the presence of high-level officials and strategic ministries. While formal confirmations are still in progress, all signs indicate that this Forum will transition from discussions to concrete partnerships, sales, and joint ventures. Experienced Turkish businesses will meet with prepared Cameroonian partners, human capital, and untapped resources, paving the way for fruitful collaborations.
